Silomag - Sistem Logbook Magang

Silomag is the internship logbook system used to record, review and report on a student's fieldwork placement. It replaces the paper forms a placement normally generates - the job specification, the daily logbook and the lecturer guidance record - with a single application where a student writes an entry once and every party who needs to sign it can see it immediately.

Challenge

A placement is signed off by three people who never sit in the same room: the student, the lecturer who supervises the academic side, and the supervisor at the company. On paper the same entry has to travel between all three before it counts, and by the time it comes back the student has already moved on. Recaps and reports are then assembled by hand from a folder of forms.

Solution

Silomag models the whole placement in one database, so each logbook entry carries its own status and moves through review without being retyped. Every role sees only the part it is responsible for: the student writes and tracks, the lecturer approves guidance, the company supervisor signs off daily entries, and the administrator oversees every placement at once.

The forms that used to be paper are generated from the same records, so a recap is always current rather than reconstructed at the end of the placement.
